Currently, First Community Bank, at our discretion if you are an "ODL" customer, will approve/authorize your ATM and everyday one-time debit card transactions even if you do not have sufficient funds in your checking account at the time of the transaction.

Beginning August 15, 2010, unless you have notified us that you want to continue receiving this service, we will decline these transactions if funds are not available. As an example, if your current account balance is $65 and you go to the grocery store and spend $70 using your debit card, your transaction would be denied. The new Federal Regulation allows you to have a choice regarding payment of your ATM and everyday debit card purchases into overdraft. You can consent to have such transactions paid into overdraft, and to the fees associated with this service.

If you would like to continue to have your transactions approved at our discretion as they are today, you must complete and sign the required opt-in form and return it to us by August 15, 2010. If you have questions, call us at (361)888-9310.

The fee for each overdraft at FCB is $30 for each item. An overdraft fee may be imposed for covering overdrafts created by check, in person withdrawal, ATM withdrawal, or other electronic means. FCB requires that all overdrafts be paid in full within 30 calendar days of an account being overdrawn. Whether your overdrafts will be paid is discretionary and we reserve the right not to pay. For example, we typically do not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing, or you are not making regular deposits, or you have too many overdrafts.
